Janet M. Brickner, 86, Auburndale, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Mountain Cemetery, Town of Mountain, Oconto County, Wisconsin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Zach, Casey, Ethan, Cody, and Brent Schreiner, and Josh Denton. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Janet was born on April 5, 1939 in Manitowoc to Louis and Lucille (Engelbrecht) Wicke. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1957.

She married Donald Schreiner on September 19, 1959. He died on June 8, 1987. She later married John M. Brickner on November 5, 1988. He died October 17, 2022.

Janet started working full time at Manitowoc County Bank in the Loan Dept. after being a stay at home mom for 12 years for her 6 children she had with her first husband Donald Schreiner. Don and Janet moved from Manitowoc to Marshfield in 1984 she worked at Shong Realty as a Secretary, M & I bank in the Loan Dept. and then Figi's Corporation as Executive Secretary. After Don's passing in 1987, Janet was united in marriage to John Brickner in 1988. Together they managed the bus service in Suring, WI. John and Janet also owned and operated a retail store and snowmobile/ATV sales in Mountain, WI. They retired in 1999 and moved to Tomahawk, WI on Lake Nokomis. In September 2003, they built their home in Auburndale, residing there until the present time. They also wintered in Mesa, AZ for 20 years from November to April.

Janet was an avid shopper always finding the best deals. John and Janet loved traveling, golfing, playing cards, watching the Milwaukee Brewers, and were members of the Auburndale Car Club cruising to various restaurants each week, but most important was spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Tam) Schreiner, Dan (Laura) Schreiner, Jim (Donna) Schreiner, David (Liz) Schreiner, John (Vicky) Schreiner, Debbie (Randy) Kundinger, Kathy (Dayn) Winkler, Terry (Penny) Brickner, Rich (Wendy) Brickner. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

She is further survived by her sister, Judean Phillips, brothers, Wayne (Renee) Wicke and Ronald Wicke, brothers in law, Steve (Ellen) Brickner, Mark (Judy) Brickner, Larry (Gail) Brickner, sisters in law, Sister Sally Brickner and Pat (Marcus) Sanders, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, siblings, Sonny Wicke, Marilyn Wicke, Audrey Patasius, Karen O'Brien, and Diane Brueser, nieces, Christine Wicke, Pamela Polgar, Amy Heder, nephews, Greg Czech, and Stephen Czech, brothers and sisters in law, Roland Phillips, Ronald Patasius, Michael Brickner, Carl and Delores Wollner, Allen and Ruby Schreiner, Gail Wicke, Barbara Czech, and Mary Heder.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Phil and Carol Abel for taking Mom along on all the car cruises after John's passing. Also to Tom and Amy Furo, Betty Strub, Paula Brandl, Roger Anderson, Kate and Rick Schmutzer, Kevin and Susan Yeske, for including our Mom in all the neighborhood events or just taking the time to talk and visit with her. It meant the world to her.
