TROY Steven Warner Nicholas passed away, after a short illness, on Sunday, August 24th, 2025.

Steve was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland and the tales of his mischievous childhood antics are still lovingly laughed about. Indeed, he never lost his mischievousness and maintained a joy for and curiosity of the world. Not only did Steve enjoy traveling, but he also took the opportunity to move across the country twice - once from Maryland to Arizona and then from Arizona to New York state.

Steve loved a celebration, whether it was a game day party watching his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers, a holiday gathering or just a regular Friday night. He was the consummate host, ensuring everyone was always comfortable and, more importantly, having a great time.

Steve's kindness and compassion touched everyone who was lucky enough to know him. He was a light that shone brightly and he made life better and certainly more fun for those who knew and love him. Not surprisingly, Steve made the choice to be an organ donor. This final act of kindness continues his legacy of taking care of others.

Steve is survived by his partner of 20 years, Audrey Parker; dad, Scott Nicholas; mom, Melinda Wright; stepdad, Doug Wright; siblings, Chris Wright (Whitney), Kimberly Wright, Lauren Nicholas; aunts, Louise Nicholas, Brenda Rosencrantz (Denny), Susie Hart, Susan Wright; cousins Stefanie Rye (Michael), Ryan Hart, Chase Rosencrantz (Cameron); in-laws, Chris Parker, Nathan Parker (Autumn), Chris (Keith) Parker; nieces and nephews, Cam and Madi Carnvale, Kyler and Ava Wolf, Graham, Nate and Sawyer Wright, Eden, Elyn and Ella Parker, Elly Acklie and so many more loved ones. He loved each of them deeply. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred (Nick) Nicholas and Barbara Nicholas, Paul and Dorothy Hedrick, Malcom and Lee Wright, and uncle, Keith Nicholas. He missed them all dearly.

Currently there is not a memorial service planned. Celebrate Steve's memory with a donation to your local children's hospital or animal shelter. Be kind. Throw a party. Take the time for your loved ones, be there for them, enjoy them. He'd love that.

Audrey
