Steven John Perrington
1958-2024
Steven John Perrington, age 66, of Cohasset, MN, passed away peacefully at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital on December 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family.
Born on March 23, 1958, in Grand Rapids, MN to Leonard and Nadine Perrington as the seventh of twelve kids. Raised in Cohasset until 1970, his family moved to a farm in Deer River where Steven graduated from Deer River High School in 1977.
On July 7, 1979, Steven married Rita Sobolik, with whom he shared two children, Eric and Sara. Steven later found love again and married Kathy Francisco on December 8, 2024.
Steven was a man who loved his children, grandchildren, and all his relatives. He was known for his kindness, always wanting the best for his family, and was often seen as a second dad or grandpa to many who knew him. His presence will forever be missed.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Nadine and Leonard Perrington and brother, Jesse. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Sara (Josh) Alzen; sons, Eric (Jamie) Perrington and Gary (Emily) Heinzer; brothers, Bill (Mel) Perrington, Louie Perrington, Joe (Dian) Perrington, Rick (Jayne) Perrington, Tom (Sheila) Perrington, Dan (Mary) Perrington, Paul Perrington, and Gary (Em) Perrington; sisters, Jackie (Jim) Hanson and Patty (Eric) Henry; 11 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Assembly of God Church, Hill City, MN with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Lisa Jordan will officiate. Interment will be at Perrington's Boot Hill Cemetery at the farm in Deer River, MN.
