Steven Podolsky Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 6, 2007.
Steven Scott Podolsky of Orlando, Fla., went to be with God forever on October 6, after a year-long fight with cancer. Steve was born in Chicago, Ill., on November 12, 1956 to Morton Podolsky and Ardith (Devermann) Blaa and moved to Orlando where he met the love of his life, Kathryn Marie (Marquez) Podolsky, and married her in Bok Tower Gardens on March 8, 1998. Steve truly loved all that was Gods green earth. He nurtured plants and animals with a special touch all his own, evident in backyard gardens filled with pineapples, avocados papayas, tomatoes, herbs, flowers and generations of butterflies that return to their home year after year. Steve will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. Steve is survived by his wife Kathryn; two much-loved children, Josh and Anna; his parents, Morton and Ardith, and their spouses, Polly Podolsky and Ray Blaa; his sister Sarah (Podolsky) Mende and brother Brian Podolsky; brother-in-law John Mende and sister-in-law Shelly Podolsky; mother-in-law Betty Marquez; brothers-in-law Greg Marquez and Stephen Marquez; and special nieces and nephew, Leah, Audra, Jessica and Michael. Steve is fishing in heaven with his father-in-law Pastor Al Marquez. A wake will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007, from 12 -3 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 301 N.E. Ivanhoe Boulevard, Orlando, with a service to follow at Steves home. Donations can be made to the Hospice of the Comforter, 595 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, FL, 32714.
