To describe Steven in one sentence would be “He was everyone’s favorite person.” That’s about the finest thing that can be said about anyone.
Steve was the middle child of five siblings, but he was the glue that held his family together. As a young man, he became the patriarch of the family, not by inheriting it, but by nature of his wisdom, kindness, patience, and responsibility. He had the leadership of an eldest, the strength of a middle child, and the warmth of a youngest.
Having attained a Master’s Degree, Steve worked as a Computer Engineer/Software Developer for over 40 years. He had a pilot’s license and scuba diving certification and had a talent for restoring muscle cars. Having lived in RI for most of his life, he remained a huge fan of the Patriots and Red Sox.
His favorite thing to do in life was to help other people. He loved spending time with his family; his nieces and nephews will remember him torturing them with “the claw” until they squealed with laughter.
Stevie had an adventurous spirit. Some of his favorites were flying small planes, bungee jumping, snorkeling with whale sharks, scuba diving the Blue Hole, and hiking. He enjoyed going to the gym, playing golf and racquetball, and walked several miles every weekend, always on the lookout for snakes.
Steve was the son of Robert Provoyeur, Sr. and Pauline Lussier Provoyeur (both deceased), and the brother of Patricia (Patti) Morrow, Robert, Jr. (deceased), Gary, Donna (sister-in-law), and Aimee Crouse.
He leaves behind a hole that no one else can fill and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Resurrection Cemetery, Committal Chapel, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland, RI 02864.
