I graduated High School with Steve 1974. I played baseball against Steve in junior league and as a freshman. We with both were pitchers. Where I threw hard and wild, he was always controlled and cool on the mound. I also remember Steve liked to have fun and joke around, but he was all business when it came time to pitch. I've lost touch with most of my classmates while living in Chicago, however Steve's passing makes me think of a nicer time of life. I am happy he was blessed to have a wonderful friends and family. My heart goes out to all his family. I am especially glad to hear my old classmate was a man of faith, and I can only hope to make the cut to play on his team in the next life.

Steve was a good person and friend. We had a lot of opportunities to talk and reminisce about our days at Bridgeton high school as the class of 74 as he took his treatments at MD Anderson. I am so happy that I got the opportunity to share the class of 74 50th reunion book photo album with Steve. We talked about how everyone has changed over the 50 years since we graduated. He will truly be missed, but I know that he is in a better place. Sending my deepest sympathy and prayers to his family. Written by Romaine Street Sr.
