Steven Max Rice, 62 of Nevils, Georgia passed peacefully into the arms of his savior on May 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife.
Born on August 5, 1962, in Logansport, Indiana. He was the son of the late Roy Lee Rice and Irmadean Wilson. He graduated in 1978 from Nova High School in Davie Florida.
A devoted husband, he shared a beautiful life with his best friend and wife, Ring Rice. Their bond was a true partnership that was rooted in love, trust and an unwavering commitment to one another through every high and low.
He was a loving father, brother and son. He was a hardworking man who was passionate about providing for his family. He was a man of faith, had great trust in Jesus. He believed without wavering doubt that what God said will come to pass.
He dedicated 50 years of service, worked in construction business, grocery stores, USPS and a landscaping company. Steve loved fishing, carpentry and maintaining his yard. He loved to help anyone in need and volunteered for church activities. He was patient and kind. He always tried to make others laugh. An ardent lover of music.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Rice.
He is survived by his wife, Ring Gonzales Rice; daughter, Kathyrn Ann Rice; his siblings, James Lee Rice, Janet Novak, Sousanne Rice, Tommy Mallory, Bradley Croy and Robert Neil Rice; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptionally kind and capable care Steve received from the Ogeechee Area Hospice team. The family is also grateful for the many friends who offered their care and support.
A 10AM Holy Rosary in remembrance and honor of Steve Rice will take place at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 221 John Paul Ave., Statesboro, GA 30458 on Friday, June 27, 2025, A memorial mass will be held at 11AM followed by a reception in the social hall.
