Steven Rogus Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 10, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Steven Edward Rogus, who passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2025, at the age of 47. Steve was the beloved son of Deanna and the late Edward Rogus, born on January 25, 1978, in Elmhurst, Illinois.
We are broken-hearted. When Steve left this Earth, a shining bright light went out. Steve was a friend who many said was happy-go-lucky, and someone who would help anyone. One of his dear friends said, "the world is a darker place without Steve in it." His pride and joy was being a devoted dad to his daughter, Nina. He wanted nothing but the best for her. He cared for his family and friends in a way that was indisputable. He also loved his furry companion, "Bijou," who was, as Steve put it, "my shadow." There are no words to express how much Steve will be missed by all those that loved him.
Steve is survived by his beautiful daughter, Nina; his favorite brother, Michael (Allison), fond uncle to Kyla and Ava "Stevie;" loving nephew of "Auntie" Arlene (late Angelo); and the charismatic cousin of Christopher.
A celebration of life in Steve's memory will be held at a later date. Location and dates to be announced.

I was so sad to hear of Steve's passing and wanted to send my condolences to all who loved him. I haven't seen Steve in years, but have fond memories of him from high school. He was always the life of the party, so incredibly kind and funny. I hope you can all find peace and comfort in your memories. He was taken too soon, and he was such a gift.
