Carolyn M. Rogus entered eternal rest on Friday December 5, 2025 at York South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late John J. Rogus Sr.
Carolyn was born in Hazleton, PA and her parents were Paul L. and Mary A. (Klesc) Krohn. She was a graduate of Hazleton High School and the McCann School of Business. Carolyn was employed as a medical transcriptionist with Wellspan Behavioral Health and Gotham Internal Medicine. She was also an administrative assistant with Childcare Consultants (now Community Connections for Children) and Penn State York.
Mrs. Rogus was a member of St. Joseph Parish for 47 years. During that time, she was active in the Justice & Peace Ministry, most specifically with the Crop Walk and Bread for the World campaigns. She also volunteered at the parish carnival, served as a mentor to participants in the "Beginning Experience" program and was a sponsor for several individuals in the RCIA program.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Mary Meisenhelter and her children Lori, Mark, Greg and Dan and by her son John Rogus, Jr., his wife Lee Ann and their sons James and Jack. She was the step great grandmother of 10 and great-great grandmother of three. Carolyn is also survived by her sister Mary P. Krohn of Hazleton and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, brother Thomas Krohn, son-in-law Chris Meisenhelter, and grandson Christian Meisenhelter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday December 15, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York. Visitation will be held from 10-11. A small luncheon will be held in the parish meeting rooms following Mass. Burial will be at Mt. Rose Cemetery at a later date. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. of East York is assisting with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions to honor Carolyn's commitment to social justice may be made to Covenant House www.covenanthouse.org an organization that she supported for over 30 years.
