Steven Samples, age 60, of Decatur went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2024, at his home. He was born and raised in Bradley county and graduated from Bradley county high school in 1982. He was a long time resident of Meigs county and was a member of Calvary Baptist in Decatur. He loved his family and friends dearly, and was always up to give a helping hand when he could. To know Steve was to love him, even on his hardest days he would offer a smile.
Steve was proceeded in death by his mother and father Margaret and Donald Samples, late wife of 20 years Loretta (Hester) Samples, grandchild Tatum Standridge, & other close family and friends.
He is survived by wife of 11 1/2 years Angela Samples, Bonus Daughters Candice(Chris) Green of Riceville, Carley(Anthony) Standridge of Athens. 6 Grandchildren Grant & Hayden Weber, Arianna Schultz, Bella Green, Trinity Mulkey, Emberlynn Standridge. Brothers & Sisters Ronnie(Elaine) Samples of Cleveland, Eric(Rena)Samples of Charleston, Donna(Rusty) Everett of Cleveland, Donna(Will) Owens of Decatur, Roger(Tonia)Martin of Athens, Brian(Stephanie)Martin of Decatur. Several Nieces/Nephews and great nieces/nephews & special family and friends.
The family will receive friends from Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Joe Reed officiating. The graveside service will be Friday, December 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Sullins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Green, Anthony Standridge, Eric Samples, Will Owens, Roger Martin, Brian Martin. Honorable Pallbearers will be Ronnie Samples, Grant Weber, Hayden Weber, Don Everett
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in to help cover the costs of Steve's services to Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
