Steven A. Sauber

Steven A. Sauber passed away at 8:20pm on Sunday February 13th after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer's disease. Steve was born on July 23rd, 1952 to Roma L. Reinhard (Sauber) and Albert N. Sauber formerly of Tiffin, both deceased. Steve was previously married to Karen (Ekleberry) Luke Van Horn they later divorced. He has a daughter Jodi L. (Wesley) Barth of Tiffin, Ohio and a son Michael S. Sauber from Kenton, Ohio. Steve had two grandson's Stone M. Sauber of Kenton, Ohio and Cole A. Barth of Tiffin, Ohio. Also surviving is his sister Jane M. (Sauber) Elsea of Tiffin, Ohio along with many nieces and nephews.
Steve was a long time journeyman electrician opening his own business with his Brother-in law Thomas L. Ekleberry in 1975 in Sycamore, Ohio. S.A. Sauber Inc. Electrical Contractors, his passion was his work. Steve will forever be known as the "The Big Spark". Steve also spent a great deal of time with the free masons becoming a past master in his small rural town of Sycamore. In his spare time he loved to build and collect model trains and train memorabilia. Steve traveled to many train shows throughout his life-time looking for different collections of train memorabilia, he built both his Grandson's a Model Train Track with his collection. Steve also enjoyed the water and was an avid scuba diver. His best memory later in life was his time he spent at Hedges Boyer Park as a child.
Appreciation goes to his Aunt Mrs. Marilyn (Sauber) Dennis Heiser of Attica, Ohio for he cherished her and the time they spent together, thank you Aunt Marilyn for always being there.
Steve has elected cremation and there will be no service or visitation at this time. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to The Alzheimer's Association to help research find a cure. Donations can also be made to the Sycamore American Legion Post #250 and also to the Sycamore Free Masons Lodge #579.
The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
