Steven Jay Schild

Schild, Steven Jay, age 74, passed away on August 21, 2024. Steven was the devoted son of the late Julius and Nancy (Schwab) Schild, the beloved husband of Rachel Schild, the loving father of Todd Schild (Sarah Weiss) and Jason Schild (Robin), and the immensely proud grandfather of Charles Schild, Peter Schild, Leah Schild, and Hannah Schild. Dear brother of Thomas (Wendi) Schild. He will be sorely missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and by his mentees locally and in Ukraine.
He was a life-long Cincinnatian, who fondly recalled his childhood in Avondale and his days at Walnut Hills High School. He lived a long full life as a Type 1 diabetic who overcame many health challenges, yet never complained about the obstacles he faced. He was committed to diabetes research and dedicated time and energy to JDRF.
Services at Rockdale Temple, 8501 Ridge Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236, on Friday, August 23rd, 1:30 p.m. Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m. The service will be live streamed at: https://www.rockdaletemple.org/live-streaming. Burial will follow at United Jewish Cemetery Montgomery 7885 Ivygate Lane Montgomery, Ohio 45242.
The family will be receiving visitors between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24th, at Rachel Schild's residence. The shiva minyan service will be observed at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to JDRF, Rockdale Temple, Camp Thunderbird Charitable Foundation, or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
