Steven Kermit Shroyer, 47 of Holden, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Holden Cemetery in Holden, MO. Memorials are suggested to Arthritis Foundation. Steven was born on March 21, 1977, in Warrensburg, MO to Kermit A. and Ruth E. (Raney) Shroyer. He graduated in 1995 from Holden High School in Holden, MO. Steven earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Missouri in Columbia, graduating in 2000. He was currently finishing his master’s degree at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. Steven worked for 18 years at DST in Computer Programing and was currently working on the family farm. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America, an Eagle Scout, a Warrior in the Tribe Mic-O-Say, 4-H, and FFA. Steven attended the Woods Chapel Church in rural Odessa. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, flying RC airplanes, golfing, but most of all telling a good joke and spending time with his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nephew.
Steven is survived by his father and mother, Kermit and Ruth Shroyer of Lee’s Summit, MO; two sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Zvacek of Holden, MO and Susan (Todd) Remington of Kingsville, MO; six nieces and nephews, Ashley (Jeffrey) Duncan of Holden, MO, Alan (Carolgene) Zvacek of Holden, MO, Wyatt (Sami) Bird of Gallatin, MO, Drake (Alyssa) Remington of Kingsville, MO, Cole Remington of Kingsville, MO, and Macie Jo Remington of Kingsville, MO; many great nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew, Casey Duncan; and many relatives and friends.
