Steven Alan Sparks, 38, of Russellville, IN passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2024 at Methodist Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis on July 19, 1986, a son of the late Edsel “Ed” Sparks and the late Jennifer Foster. In addition to his parents, Steven is preceded in death by his nephew and best friend, Jacob Hodge, cousins Kristy Sparks and Joe Bowles, all grandparents, and some aunts and uncles.
Steven graduated from Franklin Central High School with the class of 2005. He also attended North Putnam Middle School while living with his Sparks family. Like his parents, Steven was very artistic and musically talented. He spent time drawing and playing the guitar, writing music and even taking it to the stage where he’d perform his own rap music. He was passionate about being an electrician. He was always kind and wanting to help others. Steven had a great sense of humor and loved to make his family and friends laugh. In his quieter moments he would tend to his collection of cacti and succulents. He was very proud of them as well as his garden. He loved growing vegetables and flowers. He was a very good cook like his father was. He always liked working on small engines and riding his mini bike and go-kart. He and his sweetheart of 9 years, Kristen, and their fur-babies, Dewey and Miss Kitty, enjoyed spending time, curled up watching movies, especially comedies, and the television series, The Big Bang Theory.
Steven is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Kristen Goss of Russellville, her children, Logan, Graydon and Xaylon Paris; siblings, Jessica (Gunner) Jones of Muncie, IN, Jason Hodge of Bloomington, IN, Amy (Adam) Roach of Danville, IN, Derek (Rachel) Sparks of Waukee, IA and Michelle Whitbeck of Council Bluff, IA.
