Steve was born on October 1, 1946, the son of Kenneth and Joreen Singleton in Herrin, IL. During high school, he got a job at the Bureau County Republican where he started learning the printing trade.
Upon graduation he attended Western Bible College in Denver, CO and The Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. Steve loved music and sang tenor with a touring quartet in college, later playing guitar and songleading in churches. He loved the music of John Denver and Alabama, and classic hymns, most recently as part of the First Baptist Church of Orion. He especially valued his church family, his wife’s cooking, their shared furbabies, and cheering for the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Melodee; his daughter, Tamara (Al) Howe; son, David (Lucia) Singleton; sisters, Deb of Oregon and Pam; brother, Bill and half-sister, Crystal (David) Wise. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
