Born in Beverly on March 23, 1963, a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School, class of 1981, Steve was a Yard Manager at Copart in Billerica.
Steve was predeceased by his mother, Elaine (Doherty) Thomas, his father Edward Thomas, his Mum Laurie Healy-Grace, his beloved son, "JD" Jeremiah Edwards, his brother Timothy Bright, his brother-in-law Charles (Buddy) Turcotte, and his nephews Jeffrey Bright and Timothy Turcotte.
Steve was blessed with a large and loving family. Together with his two beautiful daughters, Raianna & Carli Edwards-Thomas, he is survived by his children's mother, Charity Edwards, his siblings; Maureen Turcotte and her partner Ed Credit, Patricia Boyle and her husband Bernie, Michael Bright and his wife Judy, Michelle Healy and her fiancé Mark Wilson, Michael Healy and his wife Margie, David Healy and his wife Cindy, Kenneth Healy and his wife Erin, Kevin Healy and his wife Lourdes, Daniel Healy, Steven Healy and his wife Jackie, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly.
Steve was known for his distinctive undeniable voice. You knew he had arrived long before you saw him. He spoke with such passion and often would have to remind you that he wasn't yelling at you, he was yelling to you, but as big as his voice was, Steve's heart was even bigger. Although he loved his family and friends immensely, his children meant more to him than anything in the world, something he proudly and often mentioned.
Steve loved sports and was an avid lacrosse player in high school. He enjoyed playing darts, pool, cards and watching the fights with his brother, Steven every week. He was loved by everyone who ever met him; A beautiful soul with a pure heart and a best friend to all. No matter the circumstance, you'd always leave with a story of something Steve did while you were with him.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford, on Thursday April 21, 2022. In addition, please join us in honoring Steve Friday, April 22, at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Road, Billerica. Interment will be held privately.
Soar high and proud Steve, until we meet again. "It's never good-bye, always see you later"

To the family , Steve has been taken away to soon from all of us . I wish there was a way to "turn back time " as his good friend and my sister Lynne would always sing to us ... I would love to tell him how much of a friend he meant to me and thank him for being a great friend all these years along with the Healy boys .Thank you all !!. The days at Treble Road, The days at Billerica High . ( today is 4/20 as I write this ) The Blizzard of 78 , The Pit , Prison rock , Kenton , Doherty , Hardy , Roche , Healy Ryan. Wow what fun ,, Coming to my high school games ..Steve-trying to hustle my mom or dad in a game of horseshoes and then work his way down to Billy Eddie and myself . He would always come back for a rematch as he went inside trying his luck on the pool table and then out the front door shaking his head ... he then would come calling the next day until someone woke up to play him again. ( it was Treble cove road ) and some cold ones that jump started his tournaments and became a great player . But he needed the Healy and Tierney boys to keep beating him .. before he got his groove. Recently Steve and I would always sit in the bleachers together watching our Daughters ( Methuen vs. Chelmsford) just a couple months ago watching our girls in volleyball and basketball if our daughters weren´t ACL insured we would bereminiscing and talking war stories as we both were bleeding green in the stands . To the entire family he was loved and was a great friend to many and he is back hustling my mom and dad and probably has Lynnes ear for hours while shooting pool with his son . Steve is in No pain and has plenty of friends in Heaven to start another tournament. God Bless you all and prayers are with you
