Mr. Steven R. Tolodxi, age 78, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
Mr. Tolodxi was born on April 4, 1946 in Rockford, IL to the late William and Adeline Tolodxi. He was a 1964 high school graduate of East High. He served in U.S. Navy from 1964 until 1966 on the U.S.S. San Pablo. He began a long career with Illinois Bell/Ameritech from 1966 to 1999. He served as a Union Steward for the company for a short time.
Mr. Tolodxi’s community involvement included many different events. As a teenager, he was involved with Sea Scouts Ship 508 and continued as an adult as an Alumni Member. He was a volunteer fireman at Win-bur Sew. He would be seen Saturday nights at Kenrock Community Center calling Bingo. He was a longtime member of 2nd Congregational Church where he was also a van driver and board member. He was a very active member of Vietnow- American Legion. During his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Illinois Fighting Illini, Chicago Bears and trains. He will be remembered for the special love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren and especially for his warm laughter.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Linda J. Tolodxi; children, J.T. “Jan” (Georgette), Erik (Dodie) and Sherri; grandchildren, Paul, Jacqueline, Allie, Brittany and Sarah; great grandchildren, Hayden, Jeremiah, Evangeline; brothers, Neal (Deb) Tolodxi of Rockford, IL and Jeff (Karren) Tolodxi of Panama City, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lt. C.A. Robert Carlson, American Legion Post #1207, 1011 S. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
