Steven Clyde Watson, 71, of Branson, Missouri, passed away on April 17, 2025. Born on June 27, 1953, in Pekin, Illinois, Steve lived a life marked by generosity, craftsmanship, and unwavering devotion to those around him.
A proud graduate of Maysville High School, Steve went on to build a respected career as a master carpenter. His hands shaped more than just wood-they built homes, memories, and lasting legacies for countless people. His work was not only a profession but an extension of his character: strong, reliable, and crafted with care.
Steve served his country honorably as a veteran of the United States Army. That same sense of duty and selflessness carried through every chapter of his life. He was known for giving beyond expectation-offering help without hesitation and love without condition. Whether it was family, friends, or strangers in need, Steve gave freely of himself even if it meant going without.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: tending to his garden with patience and pride, crafting beautiful pieces through woodworking, and casting a line into quiet waters while fishing-each hobby reflecting his grounded nature and appreciation for life's quiet moments.
Steve's legacy lives on through his beloved son Dillon Watson; stepchildren Angie (Kirk) Vandamme, Serena (Bill) Whitlock, Kami (Michael) Biedenstein, Sarah (Keith) Ellis, Arthur Jess III (Amy) Munier, Veronica (Jonathan) Borges, and Andrew (Amber) Munier; and grandchildren Alexa VanDamme, Ethan Whitlock, Samuel Whitlock, Mason Munier, Aidan Biedenstein, Brady Biedenstein, Kyrstin Munier, Sophia Munier, Josianna Parvu, Arthur Munier, Adelaide Borges, Emily Biedenstein, Archer Borges, Augusta Munier, and Abigail Munier.
He is also remembered with love by his siblings Mike Watson (Dawn), Kevin Watson (Tess), Veronica Nichols (Steve), and Monica Grubb (Billy); as well as many nieces and nephews including Stacy Watson, Michael Watson, Joshua Watson, Chelsi Bluhm, Kayla Fann, Michele Watson, Jessica Lynn Kyle, Brittany Vellichor, Jacob Grubb, Lea Watson, Jeremy Watson, Zachary Watson, Andrew Wiggins and Dietra Robinson.
Steve now joins those who passed before him: His partner Josie Munier; parents Ondo and Geneva Watson; twin brothers Lyle and Kyle Watson; and nephew Shorty Owen.
To those who knew him best-and even to those who may have only crossed paths briefly-Steve was so much more than titles or roles could ever capture. He was a real man in every sense: tender-hearted yet strong-willed; humble yet generous beyond measure. A down-to-earth country boy whose warmth radiated far beyond his immediate circle.
His absence leaves a temporary void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him-but his spirit endures in every act of kindness he inspired.
May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, 1638 E State Highway 76.
