Steven "Steve" Williams Obituary
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Steven Gene Williams went home to be with the Lord after two courageous battles with cancer. Steve was blessed with 70 years of strong faith, happiness, a loving family and many friends. Steve was born on March 27, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to the late Edgar (Gene) and Betty Williams. Steve was a 1972 graduate from Manchester High School. He played Peewee football as a youth and also coached after his high school years. In high school, he was Koach France's first Quarterback. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator by Lockhart Construction and Kokosing Construction, from which he retired in 2011, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Steve's hobbies included watching NASCAR races, spending time outdoors, boating and spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren. Steve will be remembered for his Fractal Wood Art. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sandy; sister, Cindy Schuckert; children, Angie (Jason) Kolb and Jennifer (Michael) Chilton; and grandchildren, Alexis Ritter, Rianna Ritter, Jordan Stevens, and Raven Chilton. Steve is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many loving friends. Friends and family will gather on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. for a Celebration of Life, with the Memorial Service starting at 4 p.m. at Connect Church, 578, Killian Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Toby's Critter Cove, P.O. Box 4106, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. Tobyscrittercoverescue.org – click the donate button.

Steve had a kind and gentle soul - and although he was an older cousin - we grew closer after we were adults. He shared parenting wisdom, as I began my family. We touched base now and then after my family and I moved away - I will miss him dearly!
