Steve was married to his best friend and love of his life, Joie Shikany, on April 18, 1969. Together they had three children, Tim (Brenda) Winski of Longmont, Colorado, Jenninfer (Jerry) Heath of Trail Creek, and Joe of Michigan City. Steve adored and shared a special relationship with each of his seven grandchildren, who survive, Elizabeth "Libby" Heath, Eli Winski, Samuel Winski, Molly Heath, Sofia Winski, Matthew Heath and Jack Winski; and one great grandchild, Lorelei Walton. Also surviving are brothers, Ron (Susan) Winski and Michael Winski; and a sister, Betty Winski. He was a longtime member of Sinai Temple where he served as president and house chairman for many years. He had the ability to meet and make friends easily and leaves behind many of those wonderful relationships.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. at Sinai Temple, located at 2800 Franklin Street in Michigan City, Indiana, with Rabbi Fred Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Sinai Temple Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home.

Jenny, I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. The loss of a parent leaves a void that words cannot fill. Your father´s spirit will forever shine through you, and his love will continue to guide your path. May you find strength in his memory.

Dear Joie and family, was sorry to hear about Steve's passing. We worked as salesman and buyer for the railroad. He always had a smile and we shared more than a few ideas over the 17 years I knew him. He has a good man.
