Steve Wolf, 60, of Marion, Indiana, completed his tour of duty in this life on August 6, 2025. Steve was an exemplary and dedicated public servant whose contributions to his community, both in law enforcement and the military, will not be forgotten. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Wolf; mother, Donna DeVault; and brother, Scott Wolf.
Steve graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1983 and earned a Bachelor's in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant with the 434th Civil Engineer Squadron from 1988 to 2013. He continued his service to others through law enforcement, serving with the Marion Police Department from 1994 to 2016, retiring as a Sergeant. Steve also served as Upland Town Marshal from 2016 to 2020, and most recently as a Lieutenant with the VA Police from 2020 until his passing.
Steve was also known and loved as "Papaw" by countless children who were not his biological grandchildren, including nieces, nephews, and friends of his own children. He embraced every child with the same love and care, leaving lasting impactful memories in those who lovingly called him "Papaw."
Steve was a dedicated member of Those Guys Riding Group and was also a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), sharing his love for motorcycles and forming strong, lasting friendships within both groups.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; children: Krae (Erin) Wolf, Jamie Lee, Adrian (Caleb) Wolf, Kayla (Brent) Wolf, Lindsey (Randy) Wolf, Lilliana Wolf, and bonus son Devin (Tish) Miller. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jace (Victoria) Wolf, Macee (Jesse) McGahey, Jaren Carter, Payton Hardin, Griffyn Wolf, Isaiah Miller, Anson Wolf, Oliver Bauman, Riley King, Grayson Wolf, and Brantley King; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A best friend to many, Steve shared an eternal friendship with Frank (Bonnie) Stotts.
Steve's unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and country, along with his kind and compassionate spirit, will leave a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Grace Community Church, 1810 E. Bradford Pike, Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Steve's life will begin at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Mark Bardsley and Pastor Devin Miller officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's honor to Cancer Services of Grant County, 305 S. Norton St, Marion, IN 46952.
