Stewart O'Brian Brock, 66, of Hertford, NC, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2025, after a long, hard and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Kenansville, NC, Stewart was the beloved son of Elizabeth Brinson (now Elizabeth Edwards) and the late OBrian Brock. He was raised in a loving home and went on to build a life marked by dedication, warmth, and adventure.

For many years, Stewart worked as an automotive parts manager, where his knowledge, integrity, and friendly demeanor earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, he lived life to the fullest and found great joy in the outdoors-especially boating, jet skiing, and traveling. Cruises were among his favorite adventures, offering the perfect combination of exploration and relaxation.

Stewart was known by all who knew him as one of the most generous and caring people you could ever meet. He gave freely of his time, his heart, and his support-always putting others before himself. Whether it was helping a friend in need, offering a warm smile, or sharing laughter over a good story, Stewart had a unique way of making people feel valued and loved.

He is survived by his devoted life partner of 34 years, Ernest Roger Blair Jr., of Hertford, NC; his mother, Elizabeth Edwards, and stepfather, Winzell Edwards, of Richlands, NC; and his cousin, Stefanie Ogden, of Newport News, VA.

He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family: Harry and Eileen Shelkey, Laura and Pat Stidam, Tracy Woods, Jeremy and Yvonne Shelkey, John and Jessica Shelkey, Beth and Celeste Hoyos, Karen and Mark Hanley, Eileen and Matt Dixon, and Michael and Maddy Scott, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him great joy throughout his life.

Stewart's kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched many, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
