Stewart Dansby, 86, of Clara City passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Centra Care Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 1:00 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Stewart Dansby was born in Long Beach, California, the son of Russell and Elizabeth (Gordon) Dansby.
On May 14, 1960, he was united in marriage to Gayle Schliep. They lived in Montevideo before moving to California for a few years. In the mid 1960’s they moved to Clara City.
He worked as a loader operator in a gravel pit. He and Gayle went camping, fishing and always cherished the time on their pontoon.
He is survived by his children: Nancy Dansby of Clara City, Marc Dansby of Granite Falls, Amy Dansby of Bismark, North Dakota, Holly Dansby of Hutchinson and Chad (Allison) Dansby of Hutchinson and raising their grandson, Nick (Carissa) Dansby; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; two sisters Rochelle Murphy of Grenada, Mississippi and Pamala Borcherdt of Willmar; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step father and wife Gayle in 2021.
