Stewart Jessen Obituary
Memorial services will take place Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Church in Linn Grove, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date at Barnes Township Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Stewart Duane Jessen was born on January 7, 1954, in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Darrell Dean and Elaine Lois (Olson) Jessen. As an infant, he was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove.
Stewart grew up in Linn Grove, where he attended school and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1972.
On January 17, 1975, Stewart was united in marriage to Becky Kraft at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Jeremiah and Joshua.
Stewart was a leader for Awana for several years.
Stewart was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying Iowa Hawkeyes basketball and football. He loved horses and coon hunting, and he was rarely idle-you could almost always find Stewart working. He had a knack for giving everyone a nickname. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Attending their activities was one of his greatest joys.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Jeremiah (Dorie) Jessen of Hanover, Minnesota; Joshua (Lisa) Jessen of Linn Grove, Iowa; grandchildren: Chase Jessen of Linn Grove, Iowa; Jenna (Caleb) Nicks of Peterson, Iowa; Kaylee Jessen (Ayden Mendenhall) of Linn Grove, Iowa; Faith Jessen (Joe Kramer) of Eagan, Minnesota; Gavin Jessen of Hanover, Minnesota; and Jadyn Jessen of Hanover, Minnesota; great grandson, Beau James Nicks; brother, Steven (Amy) Jessen of Linn Grove, Iowa; sister: Patty Anderson (Gus Reyes) of Storm Lake, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Elaine Jessen.

Such a shock to learn of "Booda Baby's" passing. A man with the heart of a warrior. He & I would go riding out to Terry's farm. We always had the best time. You are missed already, my friend.

Sorry I am missed stuarts funeral went to the manor on Thurs and they said stuart passed away .I worked with Stuart and went to see him at his home albertcity nursing home and Methodist manor will miss him and sorry again
