Stewart George Smith

Stewart George Smith died September 21, 2025, at his home, under hospice care and the care
of his family. Stewart was born July 1,1955, weighing one pound, the son of George and
Cordelia Smith in Randolph, Vermont. He graduated RUHS and the technical career center as a
skilled welder, which led him outside Vermont for employment opportunities.
He was a man of many talents, welder, heavy equipment operator, well driller, and
snowplowing were but a few. Stewart worked in New Hampshire and Alaska, sharing his sense
of humor and honest opinions with all. An avid fisherman and hunter, trying his luck from Alaska
to Labrador, he could, "catch a fish in a mud puddle." He loved to bird hunt with his dogs, provide
moose and venison for the table, bail hay and raise livestock for the small family farm.
He played a fine game of cribbage and could play a round of golf with the best of them. He
was a proud maple sugar maker for over thirty years, co-owning Moonlight Maple Farm in
Northwood, N.H., with his wife Gloria Smith. Producing award winning maple syrup and maple
products, as well as selling sugaring equipment of all forms. Teaching others to make their own
maple products, sharing knowledge with local schools and exhibiting at many fairs was dear to
his heart.
He is survived by his daughter Elisha Smith, his son, Nathan Smith and wife Sarah, as well
as much-loved grandchildren, Haley, Remy and Anna, as well as his sister Nancy White.
To honor Stewart's wishes, there will be no funeral or service held. The family will gather for
a private memorial at a later date.
