Richard D. Wamsley, 74, passed away on November 16, surrounded by his family at Riverside Rest Home in Dover, NH. He was born on November 27, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Warren and Betty (McDonald) Wamsley.
In 1970 at the age of 18 Richard was drafted into the US Navy. He was then honorably discharged in 1971, an awarded the national defense service medal.
Richard was a man always on the go, with an endless curiosity and a passion for the world around him. In his youth he belonged to the backstreet dart league and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Richard loved birdwatching and could often be found exploring nature with a camera or binoculars in hand. A devoted coin collector, he took great joy in sifting through buckets of pennies in search of hidden treasures-often returning to the same bucket again, just in case he had missed one.
A true tinkerer, Richard built and repaired his own computers and enjoyed studying astronomy, history, and classic westerns. His impressive collection of Canon cameras-lovingly organized as his personal "evolution of cameras" display-was a testament to his lifelong fascination with technology and photography.
Above all, Richard cherished his family. From camping trips and road adventures with his son Aaron to the time he spent with his beloved grandchildren, family moments were the memories he held closest to his heart. He will be remembered for his curiosity, his gentle humor, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him. He will be greatly missed.
Richard was predeceased by his brother Stephen Wamsley and his sister Donna Plitt. He is survived by his loving wife, Nadine (Chambers) Wamsley of Rochester; his son, Aaron and daughter in law Crystal Wamsley of Rochester; his sister, Denise Roose of Parsons, West Virginia; and his grandchildren, Gianna, Ashton, Tessa, and Leo Wamsley.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Delores and all the caregivers at Riverside Rest Home who looked after Richard with dedication and compassion over the past few months.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude and thanks for all the help, compassion and care given by Darryl and the Tasker funeral home.
A Celebration of Life is being planned by the family.

I ran around with Richard as a teen; he was always a good-natured "Car Guy" he loved working on cars, and anything with a motor in it, drag racing and horsepower. I'm sad to see him go, he was a great guy!

Richard was one of my favorites I enjoyed taking care of him even if it was for a short time. He was always so kind. I would walk by on my way in to work and he would put his hand out for me and then give my hand a kiss.. sending my deepest condolences to the family..

I worked with Dick for many years at Harris and the many moves from Easton Pa then Champlain NY, Dayton OH and Dover NH. He was a major contributor to the designs of the Bindery equipment. Very talented and well respected though out the industry. Great friend and pleasure working with him.
