Stephen George Ferranti December 17, 1959 - October 30, 2025
Stephen G. Ferranti, 65, of Bedford, NH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family and caring staff on October 30, 2025. Stephen was born on December 17, 1959 in Stoughton, MA. He grew up in Concord, MA, and graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1977. Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in Economics from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, in 1981. He furthered his education and received an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1985.
In the summer of 1984, he met the love of his life, Donna, who was sporting pink shorts at a friendly game of softball. From June of 1985 to December 1988, Stephen was employed as Marketing Director at McKerley's Management Services, in Penacook, NH.
In January of 1989, Stephen partnered with Dan Taylor of The Taylor Group, which grew into an award-winning Value Added Reseller of Great Plains Software, and was later renamed ManagedOps, in Bedford, NH. The company was a precursor to what is now known as cloud software. Beyond his role as Principal and Executive VP, he served as Chief Knowledge Officer, an innovative position for its time, and played a hands-on role in presales and implementation consulting. ManagedOps remained successful, growing to several hundred employees, until its acquisition in 2002.
Stephen then took a sabbatical at the Barnett Bicycle Institute in Colorado Springs, CO, receiving a bicycle mechanic certification. This gave him many hours of pleasure building and repairing bikes for himself, friends, and family.
He later returned to the workforce, working in many high level positions at several companies, including FinancialForce, before retiring in April 2021. He was a quiet, confident leader that led by example, serving as a mentor to many. He developed numerous lifelong friendships during his extensive and successful career.
Stephen had a thirst for knowledge. He was always immersed in one of his many hobbies, including stargazing with his high-tech telescopes, photography; or planning his next adventure motorcycle ride or hiking trip.
Stephen was a high-energy individual with a wonderful sense of humor. He began swimming competitively at the age of 8, and ultimately became the co-Captain of the UNH Men's Swimming Team his senior year. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, bicycle racing/riding, and participating in sprint triathlons. He was always in great shape.
A devoted husband and father of three amazing children, family and dearest friends were his greatest joy – especially when he spent time with them at his beloved Stone Pond. He will be missed by the many who loved him, including the staff at Johnson Creek Village in
Dover, NH, who loved and cared for him like family and treated him with dignity to the very end. The family would also like to acknowledge Wentworth Hospice for their support and guidance.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents Charles F. Ferranti and Dorothy A. Ferranti (Wallenius). He is survived by his wife Donna Ferranti (Janetos); and three children, Charles S. and wife Evangelia Zgonis of Melrose, MA; and Samuel R. and wife Becca of Portland, ME; and Sara S. of Alexandria, VA; sister Linda Ferranti-Nesbeda and husband Pete of Marlborough, NH and Newry, ME; brother David and wife Joyce Chutchian of Concord, MA, as well as a granddaughter, aunts, uncles, niece, and seven nephews.
