Lloyd Ferranti Obituary

In loving memory…

Lloyd Joseph Ferranti of Belmont, CA, passed away November 27, 2025, at age 97. He left us on Thanksgiving, and we are eternally thankful for him. Widely regarded as a kind and compassionate man, Lloyd was known for singing around the house and for laughing at his own jokes. If you parked your car in his driveway, he would wash it before you went home. He was well loved, and his wit and wisdom will be greatly missed.

A beloved father of four, Lloyd is survived by his wife of 74 years Margaret Dale Ferranti (née Mullen), son Gary Ferranti, daughter Heather Kinser, sister Mary Berta, and three loving granddaughters, Gina Haena, Audra Kinser, and Annette Kinser. Two dearly missed adult children, Dennis Ferranti and Leanne Comisky, preceded him in passing, as well as a sister Vilma Mott. Lloyd's family was fortunate to have him for 97 wonderful years. At the end, he left us due to "OA" (old age, as he would say) and complications from heart and kidney failure.

A native of Burlingame, Lloyd was a graduate of Burlingame High School and San Mateo Junior College, where he and Dale met in 1950. For many years, Lloyd managed the data processing department at Armour/ConAgra in South SF, working with punch cards and huge computers. He later managed accounts at Professional Food Systems in the South Bay. Lloyd was a longtime parishioner of St. Mark's Church in Belmont.

In retirement, Lloyd volunteered for the food pantry at Samaritan House and kept busy at home with yardwork and household repairs, at which he excelled. Lloyd learned to sweep at his father's produce store on Burlingame Ave, and nobody could sweep a patio better. He will be interred at Alta Mesa Cemetery in Palo Alto. No public services are planned. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Lloyd's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to Mission House Hospice in Redwood City.

What a true gift of love and care was dear Uncle Lloyd . He showed us so many gentle, old fashioned life lessons. Our true connection to our Italian roots and simple joys. So comforted to know he is united with those of ours that have gone before him. I will forever hold him in my heart with gratitude.

I'll only add here, as I told my dad near the end, that I loved him--and that I genuinely really liked him as a human being. He was a person who grew better with age. I will miss his voice, his laugh, his good advice, and his general outlook on life. We are lucky to have had him in our lives for 97 years. He aged well and with grace, and I'll continue to see him as forever young.

Caro Zio Lloyd, you were an awesome brother in law to Mom and Dad, always a fun loving, and helpful, and sweet Uncle, you raised 4 of the funnest cousins and you leave a lifetime of memories for me and the family to cherish. The biggest heart. Fino a quando ci incontreremo di nuovo.
