Stillman "Butch" Kealey Jr., a lifelong resident of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 83 years old. Born on June 5, 1942, in Salem, Butch was the son of the late Stillman Sr. and Helen (Najuch) Kealey. He was also predeceased by his sister, Kathleen (Kealey) Srybny. He is survived by his brother, Larry Kealey of Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Butch was deeply rooted in the Salem community. As a young man, he worked on the Kealey family farm, where he learned the values of hard work and service-principles he carried throughout his life. It was at Kealey Farms Supermarket where he met his future wife, Elaine (Martel) Kealey. They married in 1964 and shared over 60 years of love, partnership, and family life. A proud veteran, Butch served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. After returning home, he established and operated Butch's Electrical Service, earning a reputation for reliability and integrity. Later, he continued his service to the town as Salem's Building Inspector, where his knowledge and fairness were highly respected. The remainder of his electrical career was spent at Gemini Electric as a supervisor. Butch was a man of deep faith. A devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Salem, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Peterson Council #4442. Known for his craftsmanship and self-reliance, Butch built his own home and spent countless hours enjoying carpentry, gardening, fishing, and reading Westerns. Above all, he was devoted to his family, who were the center of his life. Butch is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his two daughters, Robin and her husband John Pappas, and Joleen and her husband Rick Malot; and his cherished grandchildren, Christina and Michael Pappas. His warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love will live on in all who knew him. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 10 to 11:00 AM at Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Salem, followed by burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, also in Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations in Butch's memory may be made to Parkinson's Research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Butch will be remembered for his deep faith, his service to others, and most of all, his steadfast love for his family.
