STUART DEAN COPELAND
of Kingston, died on his eighty-eighth birthday, Thursday, October 13, 2022 in Covenant Health Care Cooper Campus, Saginaw following a brief illness. He was born October 13, 1934 in Cass City to Leonard J. and Blanche Belle (Vance) Copeland. He married Bernice Miracle on December 24, 1987 in Kingston. She died May 14, 2011.
Stuart was an agricultural entrepreneur and also owned Marlette Stockyards for forty years. He worked as a farmer and raised cattle for many years. Stuart enjoyed playing cards, Keno, and visiting the Soaring Eagle Casino. His dog, a Lhasa Apso/Shih tzu mix, named "Chewy" was truly his most spoiled and favorite child.
Stuart is survived by his children: Curt (Kim) Copeland of Kingston; Lori (Robin) King of Kingston; Cari (Joe) Syms of Clifford. He had seven loving grandchildren: Stephanie (Tim) Randall of Caro; Bobbi (Jeremy) Rayl of Kingston; Jeremy (Heather) King of Kingston; John Ferkowicz of North Branch; Jimmy (Alisha) Ferkowicz of Silverwood; Nicole (JT) Weirauch of Silverwood; Daniel Copeland of Caro with ten great grandchildren and two on the way in March 2023. He will also be missed by his sister, Wilda Hodges of Bulls Gap, TN sister-in-law, Ruby Copeland of Cass City; several nieces and nephews and step-children: Mike, Carmen, Bill, Rob, Marge. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice; son, Danny Dean; sister, Carol Copeland; brother, Donald Copeland.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Maryanna Hartsell officiating. Interment in Novesta Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Stu are his grandsons: Tim, Jeremy, Jeremy, JT, Daniel, John, Jimmy. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be determined later.
