MAURA ANNE FURIE
Maura Anne Furie passed away at her home on January 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of music, art, and compassion.
The beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Furie, Maura’s life was defined by a vibrant, artistic spirit and a commitment to helping others. A gifted harpist who performed with various folk bands and a published author, she was a constant learner who sought to master a wide variety of skills. Her curiosity and desire to care for others led her to become an alternative healer, a practice she approached with the same dedication she gave to her creative pursuits. Whether she was creating intricate pieces with her knitting needles or tending to the animals she loved with lifelong devotion, Maura moved through the world with a gentle, healing presence.
Maura was the mother of Christine Rice (Jim) and a stepmother to Fiona Fisher (Brian) and Anne Marie Ferratt (Tom). She was the grandmother of Brendan, Dani, Walter, Benjamin, Nolan, Lorelei, Jaxon, and Mason. She is survived by her ten siblings: Virginia Furie, Anne Furie (Gerry), Margaret Kelly, Cathy Bliton (Rob), Thomas Furie, Agnes Perozzi (Tom), Aimee Turowski, Paul Furie (Jimena), Dorothy Chisholm (Michael [d.]), and Walter Furie (Sara). She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
Maura will be remembered for her strength, her artistic soul, and the quiet, lasting impact she had on everyone who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her melody lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
Services and arrangements will be shared at a later date.
