Stuart and I were childhood friends and neighbors, and his parents were very close to me and my parents. I just heard about his passing, and while we didn't stay in touch over the years, there are memories and a fondness in my heart for both him and Bobbe, who's wedding I recall. He had a wonderful and productive life, both personally and professionally, and will be missed.

Dearest Bobbe and family,
I have been out of town the past two weeks, and was therefore unable to join you for the recent service. However, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time, and also know that I have incredible memories of my time with your wonderful Stuart. May his memory be for a blessing.

I worked with Dr. Fine for many years at St. Luke's hospital. He was a pleasure to work with. Always friendly, polite , funny and smart. He will be missed by many. Prayers to the family

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Fine for the second time in my life at a wedding. He was incredibly charming and humble. It was there that I reminded him how 30 years earlier he wouldn't let a 24 year old referral patient go home after a cancer diagnosis. He knew that patient wouldn't follow through to go to the hospital on his own. Because of his persistence I could let him know that his patient went on to have two beautiful children who themselves have made a huge mark on their communities. I often think of Dr. Fine and the life he gave me and my family. I think how many other lives he must have saved and the impact they all have on their communities.
My sincere condolences to his family and thank you for sharing him with the all of us.
As I look into my Grandaughters eyes, I know
he truly left a mark on our world with humble dignity and grace.
