Stuart Wilson Guthrie, Sr. of Nathalie, VA passed away August 29, 2024 at the age of 97. He was born in Halifax County, VA on September 14, 1926 to the late Lee Guthrie and the late Daisy Cothran Guthrie. He was married to the late Frances Powell Guthrie.
He was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church and a member of Mason Kerns Lodge in Crystal Hill for 50 plus years. Stuart worked and retired from J.P. Stevens after over 50 years of dedicated service. He was an avid golfer and loved playing his guitar and played in many local bands.

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 2, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Clinton McKinney officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter.
