Stuart Wade Hastings, 86, of Boerne TX (formally of Richmond, VA) went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24,
2025 after a long period of ill health.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Hastings, his mother, Margaret B. Hastings, and his father Wade W.
Hastings.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie H. Obaugh, his sons, David J. Hastings (Jennifer) and Michael W. Hastings, his
stepdaughters, Alison Topper (Brian) and Leslie Brown (Jeff), his stepson, Daniel Piercy (Linda), his grandchildren,
Lindsey Lohr, Mitchell Childress, Brandon Hastings, Brittani Beck, Christian Hastings, Caitlyn Anderson, Emily Gibson,
12 great-grandchildren, his sister Joanna Ellis (Ronnie) and his nephew Matthew Ellis (Kim).
Stuart was a 1956 John Marshall High School graduate in Richmond, VA. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets
and captain of Company A. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and Beulah Church in Richmond.
VA. After moving to Florida with Maggie, he was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Episcopal Church in Lakewood
Ranch, FL, where he was a vestry member. Upon his move to Texas, he joined St. Helena's Episcopal Church. He
was a member of Meadowbrook Country Club and Lakewood Ranch Country Club, where he enjoyed golf. Stuart had
a career in real estate in both Virginia and Florida.
Stuart was a great cook. He loved country music, golf, fishing, NASCAR racing, sunshine, and the beach. He loved
spending time with family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In place of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American ALS Association in memory of Stuart Hastings and his late wife, Maggie.
