Stuart LeDell Sandness passed away on the morning of March 5, 2026, in Evanston, Wyoming, after his battle with brain cancer. He was born on July 1, 1955, in Lamoure, North Dakota, to Vernon and Delores (Wollerman) Sandness.

Stuart grew up in North Dakota, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. Much of his childhood was spent fishing, trapping, and hunting; activities that remained central to his life. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 1978 with a degree in Soil Science.

On July 2, 1977, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Gail Lenssen. Together they, raised two daughters, Ashley and Skyla.

Stuart moved to Wyoming in 1979. He became well known in the community as the owner of Chip’s Plumbing for over 25 years. Stuart was an honest, hardworking and compassionate person. Most of his career as a plumber he was well liked and became friends with much of the community.

Stuart loved the outdoors, he would hike every morning, sometimes before sunrise and would always have a coyote call and a rifle on hand. He was an avid bow hunter, fisherman and trapper and spent a lot of his free time with friends and family in the outdoors. He also enjoyed rock collecting, bird watching and arrowhead hunting.

Stuart is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Sandness; his daughters, Ashley Sandness and Skyla Sandness; and his beloved grandson, Carson Follette. He is also survived by his three sisters and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, WY. All are welcome to attend and share memories of Stuart with his family.
