Su Thao Obituary
Su Ying Thao, age 73, of Wausau, passed away on December 22, 2025.
Su Ying was born on April 5, 1952 to Ka Pao Thao and Phoua Her. He was the fourth oldest child and the first son.
Su Ying lived in Pennsylvania and North Carolina before settling in Wausau in 1981. During his time in Wausau, he held various jobs as a laborer. He worked at Greenheck for 17 years and retired in 2013.
In his free time, he loved to go hunting and fishing. Su Ying enjoyed going to church and was an active member in the church. He helped with church fundraisers and held different positions within First Hmong Missionary Alliance church, such as an elder on the board and janitor.
Su Ying is survived by wife, Mai Lee Thao, sons, Chong (Pang) Thao, Ching Thao, Xeng (Kelia) Thao, daughters, Mao (David) Chang, Mang (Yer) Lee. Grandchildren, Nhia (Mai Der) Thao, Kimberly, Alexia, Henry, Wyatt, and Olivia. Great Grandchildren, Isabelle, Camila, and Rafael.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ka Pao and Phoua, and his daughter Peng.
A time of visitation will be held from 9am to 9pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026, 9am to 9pm on Sunday, January 25, 2026 and 9am to 11am on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.
