Calvin Sue Baker (nee Mitchell), of O'Fallon, IL, born on February 10, 1939, in Union City, TN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Oakhill, Waterloo, IL.

Sue was a loving mother and military wife, having married her beloved late husband, James Baker Sr. on January 17, 1960. Throughout the years, the Bakers moved around but ultimately settled in O'Fallon, due to its proximity to Scott AFB. Once settled, Sue worked at O'Fallon Township High School as a librarian assistant for the next 20 years. After retiring, she was described as a homebody, preferring to spend her time with her husband along with completing complex jigsaw puzzles.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Rachel Mitchell (nee West); and her husband, James Baker Sr.

Surviving Sue are her three sons, James (Kim) Baker II of O'Fallon, IL, John (Darlene) Baker of Loganville, GA, Kenneth (Jo) Baker of Collinsville, IL; one granddaughter, Rachel (Jason) Fix; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Fix, Reed Fix.
