Sue Ellen Baker, 91, of Sellersburg, IN, passed away on January 2, 2026. Born on March 4, 1934, in Speed, IN, Sue Ellen was the daughter of Dorothy Cook Regan and Francis Jesse Regan. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for her family and home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Herbert M. Baker.

Sue Ellen is survived by her four children: Richard Baker (Becky) of Sellersburg, IN; Mary K. Davis (Steve) of Denver, NC; Carolyn Chandler of New Albany, IN; and Nancy Leist (Joe) of Canton, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dr. Chris Baker (Brook), Andrea Castetter (Scott), Jennifer Shankman (Gregg), Megan Camp (Geoff), Courtney Vilcek (Matt), Matthew Davis (Whitney), Karie Davis-Nozemack (Matthew), Kyle Leist (Lindsey), and Sarah Leist (Patrick).

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Ryan Castetter, Kayla Castetter, Caden Baker, Carly Baker, Riley Shankman, Braedy Shankman, Colin Camp, Madeline Camp, Karsyn Davis, Hadley Davis, Benjamin Vilcek, Hannah Vilcek, Will Nozemack, Mary Reagan Nozemack, Lena Leist, Kade Leist, and Kolt Leist, as well as her step-great-grandchildren: Justin Castetter, Addison Carter, Ahna Huerta, and Evie Gray.

Sue Ellen will be remembered for her deep love of family, quiet strength, and her enjoyment of cooking, gardening, puzzles, and crafting.

A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hosparus Health Southern Indiana or Maple Manor Christian Home.
