EAST LIVERPOOL – Carolyn Sue Brant, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday morning, January 24, 2025, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 75 years old.
Born in Beckley, West Virginia, February 26, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Ellen White Basham. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool where she was active in the choir at one time. Sue loved people and enjoyed sending cards in the mail to family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, William R. Brant, at home. The couple married June 26, 1970. She also is survived by two daughters, Vonda Newlin of East Liverpool, and Theresa Jackson and her husband, Jamey, of Louisiana, as well as three grandchildren: Kendra Elliot and her husband, Eric, Zachary Newlin and Noah Newlin. She also leaves behind a brother, Roger Basham and his wife, Sara, of Florida.
Sue was preceded in death by an infant son, William Scott Brant.
Friends may visit Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Pastor Matt Llewellyn will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the First Church of the Nazarene for fellowship.
