Virginia Sue Byrd Crum peacefully went Home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2025, at the age of 85 years.

Sue was born on December 26, 1939, in Crigler Arkansas to Spence Byrd and Glayds Christene Owens Byrd. Sue graduated from Elaine Arkansas High School and married her love David Crum in December 1957. David and Sue lived in Dallas and raised their young sons until 1970 when they moved to Sharpstown in Houston, Tx. Sue enjoyed working and excelled at various jobs including Computer Catalog Order Entry with Sears in the 1970's, Export Documentation at Daniel Industries in the 1980's, and retired from Roquemore Marble and Granite, where she travelled across the U.S. to work numerous shows. While working Sue continued her education through Houston Community College in International Trade and Distribution. Sue was of Methodist faith and enjoyed square dancing, camping, gardening and travelling to visit her family and friends.

After retiring, Sue and David moved to west Houston to be closer to their sons and grandchildren. Sue was especially proud of her great-grand twins and enjoyed helping her dear friend Peggy feed and care for them during their first year. Sue was also grateful for her only grandson and the help he provided her when needed.

Even though the Sue that we all knew, had left us long ago, she continued to be the friendliest and happiest person that she always had been; she was indeed a true social butterfly! The family is tremendously thankful for the outstanding care she received from the dedicated caregivers at Carriage Inn Katy Tx, Highland Hospice and Heart to Heart Hospice.

Sue Crum was preceded in death by her parents who she adored and her beloved husband, David Crum, and several family members that were so dear to her heart.

Sue is survived by her loving sons Lee Crum (Kay) and Mike Crum (Kim); cherished sisters, Sheila and Sybil and sisters-in-law Sylvia, Verna and Judy; grandchildren Misty, Tamra, Michelle, Laura and Chase; several great grandchildren and many caring nieces and nephews. Sue was proud of her family and treasured them all.

Interment will be private at Forest Park Cemetery Lawndale Houston, Tx
