Sue Davis Obituary

91, of St. Albans, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House.

Born on June 3, 1934, to Fallie and Eva Pauley, Sue Ann grew up in Boone County before her family settled in St. Albans. A proud 1952 graduate of St. Albans High School, she began her career at Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company before marrying the love of her life, Harry Benton Davis, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Sue Ann and Harry were devoted, longtime members of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, where they found deep friendships, meaningful service, and rich experiences that shaped their family's life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; her daughter, Jan Reich; and her sisters, Mary Lou Robinson and Emma Lee Eminger.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Mark Davis, and his wife, Vasilia Scouras, and their daughter, Olympia Davis; her son-in-law, Hal Stump; her grandson, Joseph Bradford; and a host of dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sue Ann lived life rich in friendship. She cherished her group of dear friends who meet three times a week at Tim Hortons for coffee, sweet treats, and conversation. Their laughter and encouragement were a constant gift that kept her fulfilled and engaged.

Her family is deeply grateful to the compassionate caregivers at Hubbard Hospice House, and to her friends at Visiting Angels - especially her angels, Amber and Jordan, who allowed her to remain in the comfort of her home for as long as possible.

A private burial will be held. Friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate Sue Ann's life at a visitation on Saturday, August 23, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in St. Albans, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 noon.

In Sue Ann's honor, the family encourages everyone to treat themselves to a chocolate chip cookie - a small tribute to her sweet spirit and favorite dessert. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church or to West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
