Sue Joyce Eastham of Grandview, Missouri went home to be with Jesus on May 22, 2025 at the age of 85. Sue was known and defined by the way that she loved. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ foremost in her life. This was followed closely by an unconditional love for her family. She had a heart to serve that was a beautiful balance between sitting at the feet of Jesus like Mary and serving people like Martha {Luke 10:38-42}. She brought light to every corner of the world she touched. Those lights still burn today.
She enjoyed working with children, whether it was decades of driving children to and from school, transporting children to and from church camps, learning sign language so she could work with hearing impaired students, helping with special needs children and teaching and organizing missonette programs for teen girls. She also took many children in crisis into her home for short periods. Sue enjoyed working with international missions as well through teaching ESL, sewing for orphanages or sponsoring and donating to missioins. She also served as kitchen coordinator for several years at two different church retreat centers. She will be greatly missed but we know she is rejoicing with her Savior and friend Jesus
Sue was born in Blue Ridge, Texas on October 24, 1939. She was proceeded in death by her son Earl Eastham, her son-in-law David Maas and daughter-in-law Erica Eatham. She was survived by her husband of 67 years Earl A. Eastham and her children Joy Maas, Faith (John) Wiles and Edward (Joy) Eastham. She also enjoyed 11 grandchildren; Jonathan (Veronica) Maas, Leslie (Stephen) Callahan, Desiree' (Alex) Tran, Jessica Eastham, Joshua (Christy) Eastham, Berea Maas, Geoffrey Wiles, Jordan Wiles, RebeccaSue Wiles and Deborah Wiles. Sue had 3 great grandchildren Gabriel Callahan, Farrah Tran and Finneas Tran.
