Sue Ann Gifford, 83, was born on March 12, 1942, in Jay, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Sue devoted her life to caring for others, serving for 36 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Integris Grove Hospital. Her dedication, kindness, and skill earned the deep respect of her colleagues and the gratitude of countless patients.
Outside of her career, Sue’s nurturing spirit shone through in many ways. She had a remarkable green thumb, filling her home and garden with flowers, and she delighted in the presence of hummingbirds. She also loved fishing, deer hunting, and dancing, especially clogging. Music brought her joy, and she especially treasured the timeless sounds of Glenn Miller and Patsy Cline.
Above all, Sue’s greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Gifford, Sr.; her son, Stephen Reading and his wife Rebekah of Seminole, Oklahoma; and her step-daughter, Angela Gifford of California. She is also survived by her brother, Brent Pearson and his wife Lynn of Pryor, and her dear aunt, Geraldine Dixon. Sue leaves a lasting legacy in her grandchildren—Ashley Blevins and her husband J.J., Dakota Gifford, Sammy Banks, Alexis Reading, Regina Pifferini, Nicholas Pifferini, Matthew Gifford, Nathann Gifford, Enrique Gonzalez, and Hazel Malerba—and her ten great-grandchildren, and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by two of her father Frank Lee Allen and her mother Nell Rose (Black) Pearson, two stepchildren, Jerry Lee Gifford, Jr., and William Charles Gifford, who are lovingly remembered.
Sue Ann Gifford will be remembered as a compassionate caregiver, a lover of nature and music, and, most of all, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Delaware Baptist Church. Sue will be laid to rest in the Westville Cemetery in Westville, Oklahoma.
