Sue Ann Erwin Morgan, 73, of Canton passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, March 5, 2026. A native of Haywood County, she is the daughter of Peggy Medford Erwin and the late Paul Erwin.
Sue was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was employed by Mountain Eye Associates as a medical assistant for over 20 years. Spending time with all of her family brought her endless joy. She shared her love to others with a gift for baking and gardening. She had a special joy for opportunities to work outside and loved the quiet of fresh snow.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Frank T. Morgan. She is survived by her mother, Peggy Erwin; sons, Joshua (Kathleen) F. Morgan of Waynesville and A. Paul (Amanda) Morgan of Canton; sisters, Paula Crowe, Janne Hyde, Patricia Blaylock, and Myra (James) Stone; brother, John (Teresa) Erwin; grandchildren, Austin (Mackenzie), Maggie, Adisen, Cecilia, Lance, and Fallon and great grandchildren, Emerson and Braxton Morgan.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, March 22 at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Frazier and Dr. Mike Odom officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church on Sunday from 1:00pm-2:15pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2171 Lake Logan Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
