On July 7, 2023, the world said farewell to a truly beautiful soul, Sue Dorothy Nolan, lovingly known as Sue by her friends and family. Born on May 4, 1954, in
Philadelphia, PA, Sue lived a vibrant and spirited life full of love, laughter, and an unmatched dedication to those she held dear. As Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel," and Sue embodied this sentiment every day of her life.
Sue, a reliable and dedicated Librarian Assistant, worked at MaST Charter School, shaping and enriching the lives of countless students. She was a steadfast beacon of knowledge and support in her community, always willing to lend a hand or a book to those in need. Sue was a devoted member of the Emmanuel Resurrection Episcopal Church and found great joy in her hobbies, which included gardening, arts and crafts. She had a particular fondness for flowers, their vibrant colors and intricate beauty reflecting her own radiant spirit.
Sue's most cherished role was that of a wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Christine (David) Nolan, Stephen (Erin) Nolan, Kathryn (Leo) Cittadini, and Bill (Kim) Nolan, as well as her grandchildren, Liam, Riley, Colin, and Reagan Nolan. She also leaves behind her brother, David Rinker, and sister, Phyllis Hershock. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Jr., her father Ray Rinker, mother Dorothy Rinker, and sisters Patricia Kaempf and Marie Rinker.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Lambie Funeral Home, located at 8000 Rowland Avenue,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10:00 am - 10:45 am at Emmanuel Resurrection Episcopal Church, 8201 Frankford Avenue,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A service will follow at Emmanuel Resurrection Episcopal Church at 11:00 am. Sue will be laid to rest in Emmanuel Resurrection Memorial Garden with her husband Bill.
