Sue Pupo Obituary

Sue Anne Pupo, 93, of 17 Sullivan Road, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 19, 2024) at Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 31, 1931, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Susan (Kutchmire) Dudick.
She was a 1949 graduate of St. Bernard High School, and a lifelong member of St. Bernard Church.
On June 9, 1956, in St. Bernard Church, she married Louis A. "Lou" Pupo, who preceded her in death May 26, 2016.
Sue Anne was a hard-working and highly regarded employee of Pennzoil before becoming a full-time mom, and found great joy in volunteer work, including many years at Bradford Central Christian High School.
Sue Anne's favorite hobby was reading; she also loved baking, especially cakes and brownies. She enjoyed watching Yankees baseball, ""The Young and The Restless,"" ""Blue Bloods"" and old movies. Her favorites were Shirley Temple movies and westerns, especially those featuring Sam Elliott.
Sue Anne was a lifelong baseball fan. In the 1940s, her family boarded ball players from the Bradford PONY League team. She told numerous stories and enjoyed cooking post-game meals for the players. Sue Anne spent many hours watching her sons play baseball in the backyard and attending countless Little League games. She also ran the concession stand at Callahan Park during the season.
Sue Anne's greatest happiness came from being a wife, a Mom, a Gramma and a Great-Gramma. "Gram" found so much joy in visiting with and hosting her family. Sue Anne loved celebrating the holidays and special occasions and took great pride in decorating her home for each and every holiday. She always took care of her "four boys," and later on, loved swimming in her pool with her three granddaughters, and more recently playing with her great-grandchildren, who adored their Great-Gram! Sue Anne was always thinking of others. She was much loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas G. Pupo of Warren, John V. Pupo of Bradford, and Tim (Pattie) Pupo of Manteo, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Baumgart of Lakewood, N.Y., Kristen (Robert) Labbe of Bristol, Conn., and Tiffani (Keith) Finnell of Cape Coral, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Mason and Eva Baumgart, Ethan and Henry Labbe and Charlie and Patrick Finnell; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband of 60 years, Lou, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Donald, Edward and Richard Dudick; two sisters, Evelyn Carter and Dorothy Carter; and one grandson, Michael Vincent Pupo.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 24, 2024) at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave. At 11 a.m. Monday there will be a Mass of Christian burial at St. Francis Church with the Rev. Edward Walk, associate pastor, as celebrant. Committal services and mausoleum entombment will follow in St. Bernard Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the St. Bernard Church Building Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are under direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
