Sue Steuart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Slay Memorial Funeral Center - Aubrey on Nov. 19, 2025.
Sue, Susie, Irma, Mom, Ma, Grammie, Grandma-she was known by many names, but each of them meant the same thing: love.

Sue Steuart passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 15, 2025, in Pilot Point, Texas, at the age of 86. She was born on January 15, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois.

As a child, she played in the orange groves of California and later became a cheerleader at Farwell Rural Agricultural High School in Michigan. She was a beautiful young mother in New York and then Florida. Over the years she served as a Cub Scout den mother, a Girl Scout leader, a cheerleading coach, and was a successful business owner alongside her husband. She loved camping, traveling, and creating memories for her family.

Those were things she did; but who she was tells the real story.

Sue was the living embodiment of love, generosity, and joy, with a caring, open heart. She was genuine, accepting of all people, and freely shared her radiant spirit with everyone she met. Her laughter lit up every room and drew others into her warm, loving circle. She was a special lady, a great lady, and yet so very humble.

Her unspoken mission was to serve. Whether volunteering at the Salvation Army or sending cards to friends to brighten their day, she lived with intention and kindness. Above all, Sue loved her Lord and Savior. Her deep faith guided every part of her life, expressed through compassion, generosity, and a servant's heart. She leaves behind a beautiful example of what it means to love God and love others well.

Sue is survived by her children David (Karen) Tuttle, Benjamin Tuttle, Michael Tuttle, Andrew Steuart, Rebecca (Bob) Jones, and Amy (Todd) Witte, as well as her sister-in-law Cheryl Patterson. She cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Steuart; her parents, William and Carol Bratt; and her brother, William Bratt.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but the joy, laughter, and love she gave so freely will continue to be felt in every life she touched.

Because she loved serving and caring for others, in lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Sue's name.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30AM at Midway Church in Pilot Point, TX.
