Sheryl Lynn Templin was born 6/21/43 in Deshler, Nebraska, to Bud & Elnora (Pitts) Buhl. She passed away 8/30/24 at the Fillmore County Hospital after becoming ill 3/17/24.
Sue was baptized and confirmed at the Christian Church in
Hebron, Ne. She attended grade school in Hebron. In 1953, shortly after the tornado, her family moved to Fullerton, CA where her father worked for a trucking company. Her family returned to Hebron where Sue graduated from high school with the class of 1961. She enjoyed twirling baton, roller skating & riding her bike with her friend Nayan in California. Participating in sports, choir, & cheer leading was Sue's passion at Hebron Hi.
She met the love of her life, Dick Templin, in high school one night at the bowling alley. On Friday nights, Sue was a cheerleader for games & on Saturday nights, Dick & Sue would go to the movies & have hamburgers or chili afterwards. Two years later, they were united in marriage on 10/29/61. Sue quickly learned the role of a farm wife with the help of her mother-in-law, Gladys. Sue was an excellent cook and baker. She often was asked to share her recipes.
Sue was a member of the "Nearby Neighbors Extension Club" with the surrounding neighbors for several years. She held many roles at the United Methodist Church in Hebron including fixing meals, VBS, and UMW (United Methodist Women).
Sue worked at Christiansen Drug Store working as a clerk & serving drinks & ice cream cones her junior & senior years. After she was married, when the kids were younger, she periodically helped friends with various jobs, working at H&H Café for long-time friends Hissong's & Hartley's, worked at the sale barn café for Russ and Bonnie Priefert, worked with her sister-in-law, Marilyn Templin at the local clothing store "The Clothesline", and also at True Value for her high school friends, Johnny & Idonna.
Sue's greatest joy was taking care of Dick & her family. She cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed slumber parties with the grandchildren, having an abundance of crafts for them, running through the sprinkler, playing Yahtzee, and teaching them how to cook.
She was blessed with three children, Becky Lynn Robertson 1962, Lori Lea Schardt 1964, and Bradley Wayne Templin 1970.
