Sula Kathleen Beavers

Sula Kirk Beavers, 92, of Fort Oglethorpe, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 11, 2026

A lifelong resident of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, she was born and raised in Stevenson, AL. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, where she was a member of the Golden Agers, and Fellowship Sunday School Class, and a Deacon's wife for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde P. Beavers; parents, John H. Kirk, Sr., and Ora Lee Steele Kirk; sisters, Virginia Allison, Edna Perkins, and Emma Jean Moore; brother, Kelsey A. Kirk; and daughter in law, JoAnn McKelvey Beavers.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeffery Beavers of Ringgold, GA, and Christopher Kirk Beavers of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; three grandsons, Ryan Beavers of Chickamauga, GA, Chase (Caitlin) Beavers of Chickamauga, GA, and Logan (Allison) Beavers of Johnson City, TN; six great-grandchildren, Brantley Beavers, Kate Beavers, Mason Beavers of Chickamauga, GA, Jayden Johnson and Jaylee Beavers, Jaxton Beavers of Johnson City, TN; brother, J.W. Kirk Jr. (Joy) of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Kirk of Fort Oglethorpe; and many nephews & nieces and many cousins.

Sula enjoyed cooking and making Coconut Cakes for family and friends, she also collected dolls and enjoyed needle pointing.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 1:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home at 833 Chickamauga Ave. Rossville, GA.

Interment will follow and Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Sam Burgess and pallbearers will be her nephews.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday, March 16, 2026, between 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. and on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 11:00a.m. until the funeral hour.
