Susan (O'Brien) Allard, 67, of Bellingham, MA, and a former resident of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Born on January 28, 1959, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Vincent J. O'Brien and Lois A. (LePauloue) O'Brien. She was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1976.

Susan devoted many years of her career to the Wrentham State School before continuing her professional life as an Executive Administrator at EMC Corporation.She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who brought warmth and integrity to everything she did.

Susan found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, spending time at the beach, especially Hampton Beach, George's at Galilee, and Hilton Head Island while living in Georgia. Above all, Susan's greatest passion was her family. She treasured time spent with loved ones and found special joy cooking alongside her granddaughter, Ava.

Susan was known for her unique and special sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes. Her wit brought laughter to countless gatherings. She was deeply caring and consistently placed the needs of others before her own, always offering love, support, and encouragement.

She leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Russell E. Allard of Bellingham; her loving children, Amanda Susan Allard of Franklin; Heather Lynn Allard of Uxbridge; and Russell Allard, Jr. of Bellingham; and her cherished granddaughter, Ava Olivia Allard.

She is also survived by her five sisters: Kathy O'Brien of Franklin; Dianne Fayle and her husband Doug of Wrentham; Donna Brunelli and her husband Jimmy of Franklin; Maureen Rook and her husband Bryan of Bellingham; and Linda Sottile and her husband David of Bluffton, SC; her dear and longtime friend Jeanette Scully Finnell; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Susan's family was her greatest blessing, and her love will continue to live on through them.

Visitation will be held at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, Franklin, MA on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held from the Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, MA at 11:00 AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org

Interment will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan's memory to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, in gratitude for the compassionate care they have provided and continue to provide to her daughter, Amanda. Susan's sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void, but her laughter, love, and generous spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
